Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Her mom raised her in the USA, where she faced numerous racial slurs that caused her to feel as an unwanted person. When she went to school contests and received great praise for her performance, in ninth grade she began to grow more confident. This experience did not just help her gain confidence but changed the direction she was heading in her the future. In 1992, she earned her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. Her biggest break came with her performance as The Lady of The Lake, in the first Broadway version of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. In 2007 she was cast in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy and became more well-known. As a well-known singer, she released her own single and an extended version of her play. In addition, she is an LGBT activist.
